The Story

Walls have to please – of course. In the best case, however, they take the viewer on a journey. In the case of VINTAGE deluxe, Felix Diener, Creative Director of Marburger Tapetenfabrik, takes us to special places. With weathered concrete looks and oxidised metal walls, the collection takes us to the lofts of the metropolises or to old Italian palazzi. You can tell the surfaces have been loved and touched all these years. The elegant chic, the pompous impression and the ornate details of past centuries are evident at first glance. But time has left its mark.

The wallpaper book brings together five designs:

Large-format semicircles and rectangles in a stunning Haitian look that seem to flake off the wall in some places.
A sensual strié that – when viewed from a distance – reveals a large-format stripe. This design can be used both as the main motif and as a plain. A matching plain colour is also available.
A wiping technique reminiscent of Venetian stucco. The raised areas shine softly. Their patina makes them look fragile.
A three-dimensional looking raffia fabric that seems to have accompanied the inhabitants for a very long time.
A surface that is reminiscent of parchment and radiates sublimity. Fine cracks stand out in the wall, the plaster almost seems to be peeling off. The appearance surprises every observer.

The collection is almost divided into two parts. Calm, homely tones alternate with heavy, dark nuances. What they have in common is transience. They are not colours that appear youthful and fresh – on the contrary. They tell of past times full of wisdom. Metallic colourings hint at splendour and luxury.

Technical features:

All wallpapers in the VINTAGE deluxe collection are hot embossed. 200 to 220 degrees Celsius prevail in the so-called gelling channel in which the colours are heated. The fine structures are then worked in with a water-cooled steel roller. No other printing process makes it possible to reproduce such precise lines and patterns. Wallpapers produced in this way are also extremely robust.
